The standee line is found in commercial vehicles designed to transport passengers and allow passengers to stand.

The standee line acts as a barrier between the driver and any standing passengers.

Many busses that allow standing will feature a 2 inch line painted on the floor that acts as the “standee line.” This is the area where passengers must stay behind.

No standing riders are allowed to stand in front of the rear of the driver’s seat.

You can find more information about this topic in the Transporting Passengers Safely (4) section of your official driver’s handbook.
